Come Join us at the General James Holt Clanton Sons of Confederate Veteran camp. We are located in the Clanton, Alabama area.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the direct organizational descendant of the United Confederate Veterans. Founded in 1896, the SCV is the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate Soldiers. Our Camp is part of the Alabama Division, which serves as the statewide organization of the SCV.
Membership to the SCV is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederated armed forces. Membership can be obtained through either lineal or collateral family lines and kinship to a veteran must be documented genealogically. If you are unsure of your ancestry we have members in our organization who are more than happy to assist. For more assistance please email genealogy@alscv.org or contact our camp at (email address to be determined).
